Perez's Perseverance

Perseverance helped Perez weather her experience in the orphanage by giving many of the orphans determination to face their problems and fight through any struggles opposing them in their lives. Perseverance is the motive of having determination to do something for the benefit of oneself, or for others. The reason why Perez's perseverance is so significant to the theme of the story, is because it helps gives readers more insight on her empathy for others she wishes to help. I think that Perez chose to do this, because she came to a realization that there were others in orphanges that have faced and are going through similar problems not so much different to her's when she was a child, and she wishes to help them, out of good will.
